Southwestern Service Area

Upcoming Events 2023:

NEW THIS YEAR! Service Area and Resource Group Social at the VRPS Annual Conference:

Sunday, September 10th;  5:15pm-6:15pm

  • Southwest  Service Area will host and facilitate the meeting.
  • We will start promptly at 5:15pm, so please arrive a few minutes early to set up and find your group’s designated table.
  • Jason Bookheimer will begin by providing an overview of the social to all attendees.
  • Each service area and resource group will have a designated table in the room
    • Please have two representatives at your table -  this can be the chair/co-chair or anyone who can represent your area
    • Each table will have up to 3 minutes to share a brief overview of what your       service area/resource group does, is about, types of coverage, etc. (we have 13 total groups so please keep your remarks in the 3 min time frame)
    • Attendees will then have the remaining time to visit tables, chat with representatives from those areas (encouraged to bring a business card that can be shared with interested parties to get in touch with your       service area or resource group)
    • Please have any flyers or information available for upcoming events, professional development etc. for attendees as well (be environmentally friendly and bring one flyer with a QR code!)
    • At  6:15pm the session will end and you are free to leave
  • Conceptually,  we aim to have a time where folks can meet and socialize with each other and groups they are interested in; we have had strong feedback from new to the profession or first time attendees that they would like to visit multiple resource groups and/or hear about what other service areas are doing.
  • No food or beverages will be served; individuals are welcome to bring their own personal snacks if they like (the hotel does not allow outside food or drink for groups)
