LTI Scholarships

The VRPS Foundation is offering three scholarships that will pay half of the early bird member registration fees. The LTI will take place at Wintergreen Resort from April 22 - 24, 2012. For more information, visit the LTI page.

All scholarship applications must be received at the VRPS Central Office before close of business on February 3, 2012. Applicants will be notified of their award status prior to the early registration deadline.

Welcome to the VRPS!

The Virginia Recreation and Park Society is a private, non-profit professional organization, founded in 1953 and incorporated in 1956. Its purpose is to unite all professionals, students, and interested lay persons engaged in the field of recreation, parks and other leisure services in the Commonwealth of Virginia, into one body. VRPS is an affiliate of the National Recreation and Park Association.

The Education Committee is eager to receive your 2012 Conference Session Proposal Form. First Statewide Survey in 30 Years
Examines Views of Seniors,
Baby Boomers on Aging

A statewide survey of 5,000 Virginians shows that many Baby Boomers think their communities are unprepared for the coming "age wave" and are concerned about how their quality of life might change as they grow older.

The Older Dominion Partnership (ODP), an enterprising non-profit organization working to better prepare Virginia for the major impact caused by the aging population boom, recently released results of a statewide survey of Virginians ages 50 to 105.
