The Recreation Supervisor is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing  community recreation programs, and coordinating the scheduling of parks and cultural facility rentals for private events.

The Planning and Community Development Department is seeking a charismatic, energetic individual to administer community recreation programs in the Parks, Culture and Recreation Division.  The selected incumbent will be responsible for ensuring a dynamic schedule of performances and programs at City parks and other City-owned facilities.  This exciting position works to ensure the success of enhanced recreational opportunities by creating unique and enjoyable experience to highlight our city spirit and charm!

Starting compensation range: $56,950.40 - $75,462.40, depending on education, experience, and qualifications.

Essential Job Functions:

Primary job responsibilities include working to develop, plan, implement, and schedule recreation programs, classes, special events and/or camps, researches opportunities for new specialty programs and promotes all activities within the scope of the position; works with staff, volunteers, and contracted employees to implement activities, market City owned facilities for private event rentals; participate in trade shows such as for weddings and reunions.

Required Experience

Two years' related experience in community service or recreational program administration experience. Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license. A combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree

Special Requirements:

Candidates should also be able to demonstrate proficiency operating office equipment including a computer to enter, retrieve, review or modify data, utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, and other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions.
