The Bedford County Parks and Recreations Department is currently accepting applications for a full- time Parks Regional Program Coordinator. Work is performed under the general direction of the Director of Parks and Recreation. Candidate performs intermediate professional work planning, organizing, and coordinating recreational and athletic programs in the Staunton River High School District. Supervises volunteers, coaches, game officials, and seasonal staff. Employee is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions.
M-F 8:30 am- 5:00pm with nights and weekends as required

Required Experience
Minimum Requirements Include:
General knowledge of sports such as baseball, tennis, soccer, softball, volleyball, football, basketball, and other sports.
Familiarity of Little League Baseball and Softball
Knowledge of VHSL and NRHS rules and regulations.
General knowledge of modern principles of recreation and physical education
Familiarity of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work cooperatively in a diverse professional team and / or independently.
Ability to establish / maintain effective working relationships with employees, community officials, associates, vendors, volunteer groups, program participants, and the public. Strong quality and service minded.
Possession of valid Commonwealth of Virginia driver's license and acceptable driving record.
