PRCS- Creating Community through People, Parks and Programs

PRCS is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance Division working at Hal and Berni Hanson Regional Park located in Leesburg, VA, near Independence High School and just 45 minutes from the Maryland state line. The Hal and Berni Hanson Regional Park is a brand-new state of the art park featuring 17 lighted athletic fields, an event center, nature center, playgrounds, disc golf course, and more! The new 257-acre park will offer a wide variety of programs to serve the community. If you enjoy working outdoors with a dedicated staff, are knowledgeable of the practices and techniques of ballfield maintenance, grounds maintenance, preventative maintenance, building maintenance, and share a desire to make a difference then this could be the position you've been looking for. Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator, top priorities for this position include:

  • Ballfield set up and maintenance, mowing, turf management, trail, and woodland maintenance
  • Set-up and breakdown for tournaments and special events, snow removal, general painting, and carpentry
  • Operate machinery, tools, and vehicles as necessary to complete tasks
  • Basic mechanical skills needed to operate and perform preventative maintenance
  • Respond to routine inquiries and assist with routine administrative and clerical tasks as assigned

Successful candidates will understand that:

  • Service demands require a flexible work schedule to include early morning, evening, and weekend hours
  • Physical effort is required, regularly working with medium-to-heavy materials and occasionally with heavy materials over 60 pounds
  • They will be subject to call for Essential 24-hour operations


  • Pesticide Registered Technician in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • OSHA certification as a forklift operator
  • Membership in Virginia Recreation and Park Society


  • Submit to a criminal background and DMV record check
  • Agree to an annual DMV check; have and maintain a valid driver's license

Required Experience

Valid driver's license
First Aid Certification or the ability to obtain certification within four months of hire
