Incumbents in this classification are responsible for performing administrative, supervisory and professional work in the assistance of development, operations, and maintenance of aquatic programs and facilities for the community. Under administrative direction, this responsible and specialized work may also include supervision and management of daily operational and programming components of aquatic facilities, including maintenance, operation, and general life-saving duties. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulations, administering the division's budget, inspecting aquatic facilities, supervision of subordinate staff, researching and recommending changes in programs and operations based on current trends, and providing excellent customer service. The incumbent is responsible for sustaining a culture of professionalism and respect at all levels.
Supervision is received from the Aquatics Manager and requires considerable independent judgment in selecting the proper courses of action. The role requires the incumbent to work a highly flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Supervision is exercised over staff members.
