Frequently Asked Questions for the Virginia Senior Games

Q:  Can my partner and I send in our registration on the same form?
A:  No, each athlete must complete an individual entry form and sign the waiver forwarding the entry and payment to our office.

Q: I don't want to print our the entire book, do you have just the registration forms online?
A: Yes, the Individual Entry Form and Team Entry Forms are available to print in the main page www.virginiaseniorgames.org

Track & Field

Q: What foot wear is permitted?
A:  Athletic footwear  and/or  athletic footwear with spikes no longer than 6mm are permitted.

Q: What field equipment is available for athletes to use on site?
A: Athletes are required to bring their own equipment for field events.

Q: Is the long jump running or standing?
A: The long jump is a running long jump.

Swimming

Q: Is the pool a yard pool or a meter pool?
A: The swimming pool is a 25 Meter pool?

Q:  Is this years swimming competition a Master's recognized event?
A:  The 2012 swimming competition with the Virginia Seniors Games is a Master's recognized event.
 

Cycling

Q: Are the races Time Trials or Road Races?
A: The 5K is a Time Trial and the 20K is a Road Race.

The same course will be used for both cycling and road race events. 

Basketball 3 on 3
Q: What places will qualify for nationals? 
A: Each age division team  medal winners of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places will qualify for the National Senior Games.  In addition all 80+ teams that compete will qualify for Nationals.

Racquetball
Q: What time does the mixed racquetball competition begin?
A:  All Doubles and Mixed double athletes are scheduled to report at 12:30 pm, Wed. May 9th at the YMCA (Downtown) for court assignments.
