LTI began in 1985 and this will be the 15th class since the 27 years of inception and to date, approximately
600 professionals have attended LTI.

The next Leadership Training Institute, "Engage, Explore, Elevate" will be held on April 22-24, 2012 at the Wintergreen Resort.

Since 1985, the LTI Board has strived to provide quality educational opportunities for recreation professionals through workshops led by national speakers and esteemed recreation professionals at the bi-annual Institute.

In 2000, a graduate program was added.  This change enabled past participants of the Institute to return and receive more in-depth training while continuing to offer undergraduate sessions for newer professionals.

After attending both the undergraduate and graduate programs, many participants have expressed an interest in returning to LTI.  Beginning in 2012, there will be a new LTI program format which will offer a unique curriculum appropriate for both first timers and past participants. This change ensures that each Institute will be a new educational opportunity allowing participants to attend multiple Institutes.

This year's workshop topics include Authentic Leadership, Breaking Barriers, Crucial Conversations, Listening and Leadership, and more. Our speakers will include MSB Coaches Joann Auger, Ken Karr and Michelle Braden: Cara McFadden from James Madison University and Teambuilding Activities provided by The Edge from George Mason University.

We invite each of you to venture to Wintergreen to enhance your leadership skills and learn the value of the "mountaintop experience."

See you on the mountaintop.
